Overview
LiftIQ Field Meter is a professional field-testing and documentation app for elevator and escalator specialists. This policy describes how the app handles information when you use it on your iOS or iPadOS device.
Information processed by the app
LiftIQ Field Meter may process the following categories of information on your device:
- Measurement and test records you create.
- Property and unit information you enter.
- Photos and videos you capture or attach.
- Audio recordings and transcripts you create.
- Motion sensor data used for speed and ride-quality analysis.
- Ambient sound measurements.
- Ambient light measurements.
- Optional location data used to help populate jobsite address information.
How we use this information
The information processed by LiftIQ Field Meter is used to:
- capture field measurements and timings;
- generate saved test records;
- produce PDF and CSV exports;
- support ride-quality and timing analysis;
- let you organize and review your field history.
On-device processing
The current version of LiftIQ Field Meter is designed to operate on-device. Your test records, media, and exports remain on your device unless you explicitly export or share them. We do not run analytics SDKs or third-party trackers in the app, and we do not collect or transmit your test data to LiftIQ servers in the current shipping build. If future subscription, enterprise, or cloud features expand data handling, this policy will be updated before those features are released.
Permissions used
- Camera: AR measurement of door openings, cab dimensions, and field geometry. On LiDAR-capable devices, native scene reconstruction is used for accurate measurements.
- Microphone: measuring ambient sound levels in dBFS for cab interior, machine room, and landing noise documentation, and for recording audio notes.
- Motion & fitness: reading accelerometer, gyroscope, and barometer data to measure ride quality, speed, acceleration, deceleration, jerk, and vibration.
- Speech recognition: transcribing recorded audio notes into field documentation text.
- Location (when in use): auto-filling the jobsite address in the Property / Unit Info section. Location is used only while the app is in use, and only when you choose to use the address autofill.
Each permission can be granted, denied, or changed at any time in iOS Settings. Denying a permission only disables the specific feature that depends on it.
Subscriptions and billing
Subscriptions are sold and managed through Apple via StoreKit. Apple handles billing, renewal, cancellation, refunds, and family sharing where applicable, subject to Apple's terms and policies. LiftIQ does not receive your payment card information.
Children
LiftIQ Field Meter is a professional tool intended for adult users in the vertical-transportation industry. The app is not directed to children under 13.
Data retention
Saved records, media, and exports remain in the app until you delete them. You can delete individual tests and attached files within the app, or remove the app to delete all locally stored data.
Your choices
- Decline camera, microphone, motion, speech, or location permissions.
- Delete saved tests and attached files within the app.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple's subscription settings.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
